Service to the Armed Forces
 
The American Red Cross has its roots as an organization formed to provide aid to soldiers and others affected by war. Our service to military personnel and their families continues today, with Red Cross assistance for emergency communications, financial aid and counseling services, among others. Red Cross workers are always nearby, in local chapters or at military installations around the world, ready to help those who serve our country.
